Surely, by most any standard, the elections of October 4, 2003 must
be the greatest showing to date for Greater New Orleans Green Party-endorsed
candidates. This must be somewhat inspiring to many local progressives
and Greens, as I know it's extraordinarily inspiring to me. I don't
have adequate words to congratulate, and to thank, the campaigns,
managements, staffs, volunteers and all other participants in these
campaigns for attaining such historically high results, in spite of
all of the difficulties experienced, and in spite of the fact that
efforts were more or less divided five ways simultaneously. Now let's
go out to our communities and let them know that the Green Party has
arrived in New Orleans and wants to assist all in the quest for peace
and justice. - Steve Godfrey
